What does Senior Gift mean to us?

We give because we love this school and because we want to see it changed. We donate because we value the opportunities we have received and because we recognize that Harvard has provided us with challenges and failures worthy of remembering.

All of us share different reasons as to why we participate in the Senior Gift effort, but we are united by a common optimism for the future. Giving is not just about celebrating Harvard. It is not about beautiful pictures or fancy brochures. It is about honoring the indelible impact that Harvard has had in shaping us into the individuals that we are today, and making sure that this experience is thereand even betterfor those who take our places.

Where does the money from Senior Gift go?

The Harvard experience would not be possible through tuition alone. Many crucial programs rely on gifts from students, alumni, parents, and friends. Senior Gift contributions to the Harvard College Fund have an immediate impact on current students and directly benefit key areas such as financial aid, advising, athletics, and house renewal.

We understand that you might have a lot of questions regarding how the funds raised from Senior Gift are used. To help answer your questions, we will be releasing a set of infographics (in the left column of this page) over the next few weeks detailing the distribution of Senior Gift funds and the role of Senior Gift in comparison with the role of the Harvard endowment. We want you to feel comfortable with your decision to give. If you have further questions, we encourage you to reach out to any of the Gift Marshals, who will be happy to answer your questions!

How can I get involved?

There are many different ways to get involved with the Senior Gift Committee, from leading the effort as one of the Associates, to producing videos for the publicity campaign, to assisting your House team. These fun and rewarding opportunities vary in commitment level. We encourage anyone who is interested to contact us for information.
